Do you have to be a resident of West Dennis to belong to the WDYC?

No. As a matter of fact, we have members who are full-time or summer residents in all of the Towns of Dennis, Yarmouth, Harwich, and Brewster as well as Chatham, Hyannis, and East Sandwich.

Do you have to own a boat to belong to the WDYC?

No. About one third of our members own boats. Many of our members belong to the Club for the sailing programs we offer for children and adults, as well as for the many social functions that we offer on and off season.

Can I use Club boats?

Yes. The Club owns a Capri, an Alcar, 420’s, and Opti’s that may be used by Club members when these boats are not being used in the Sailing Program provided that the member is qualified to sail these boats and has the permission of the Fleet Captain, Commodore, or Club Manager.

How much does it cost to join the WDYC?

Please contact the club manager to inquire about the current cost of membership to the West Dennis Yacht Club. Please note that dues are subject to change according to the financial needs of the Club.

What constitutes a member of the WDYC?

A WDYC membership has no differentiation between individual or family membership. A membership consists of an individual or a family including husband and wife and/or their children. Children of members of the Club can remain members of the Club until their 26th birthday if they are unmarried. Children of members of the Club between the ages of 26 and 30 may join the Club at half the dues with no initiation fee and are not limited by any membership cap.

Can grandchildren of members of the WDYC participate in Club activities?

Yes. Grandchildren may participate in the Sailing Program for one year at member discount prices, and they may belong to the Junior Yacht Club.
